Our Story

The financial advisors at Hancock Financial Solutions Inc. are committed to helping Residential, Commercial and Business clients manage their insurance and financial needs effectively. We are a local company based out of Corner Brook, Newfoundland, that strives to build strong, lasting relationships with all of our clients in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Deon Hancock

Deon Hancock is the President of Hancock Financial Solutions Inc. (HFSI). He has been a financial advisor in the insurance and financial services industry for more than 26 years. He is an investment fund advisor with Investia Financial Services Inc.

Born in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador, Deon moved to Forteau, Labrador where he graduated from Mountain Feild Central High. Deon graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1988 from St. Francis Xavier University. In 1989, Deon graduated with his Master’s Degree from the University of Toronto.

HFSI has offices in Corner Brook and in Forteau NL. Our emphasis is on providing our clients with an enhanced level of service and direct personal contact with knowledgeable and caring financial advisors and support staff. HFSI serves individuals and businesses throughout

Newfoundland and Labrador and Nova Scotia.

Gerard Deveaux

With more than 20 years of service in the insurance and financial services industry, Gerard is a valued financial advisor at HFSI. He is from Cheticamp, Nova Scotia and has a large client portfolio spanning Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador. Gerard is a valued member of the HFSI team and contributes in a sales and support capacity.

Having a background in farming, Gerard has an appreciation for the outdoors and spends much of his spare time at his cabin at Copper Mine Brook located in the Bay of Islands. When there are fish to be caught during the recreational food fishery, you will find Gerard on the water.

Charlene Parsons

Charlene Parsons has been with HFSI for more than ten years. She is the first point of contact for many of our clients. Charlene’s value in a support capacity for our many individual and business clients is without equal, and we are fortunate to have her on our team.

Charlene’s ability to grasp the details of the various products from the numerous companies we represent is only surpassed by her ability to empathize with the needs of our clients. She currently resides in Corner Brook, but previous to that, she lived in St. Anthony located on the Northern Peninsula. She is loyal to friends and family and is always the first to lend a helping hand.

Zita Pike

Zita Pike joined HFSI in 2012 and works from our office in Forteau, Labrador in the role of Customer Service Representative. She graduated from the Fisher Institute of Applied Arts with a Diploma in Business Administration in 1991. Before joining HFSI, Zita worked with Service Canada Outreach where she became knowledgeable in federal and provincial programs.

For more than 10 years, Zita has also had a successful tax preparation practice, through which she serves the people of the Southern and Coastal regions of Labrador. We are confident that our clients benefit from having an office and client support in Labrador.

Ashley O’Brien

Ashley is the most recent addition to the HFSI team and is working in the capacity of Marketing and Social Media Consultant. Originally from L’Anse au Loup, Labrador, Ashley graduated with her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 2017 and currently resides in Curling, Newfoundland and Labrador.

Ashley will be leading our growth initiatives in the marketing of Employee Benefit programs as well as our Social Media and online presence. She also enjoys spending her spare time in the great outdoors whether it be hiking, playing sports, or just relaxing. As a self-taught guitar player, Ashley loves music and enjoys singing.
